These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Points mobile application, Siri Shortcuts, widgets, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
Points is operated by Gavin Palm under the GP Lights name.
By creating an account or using Points, you agree to these Terms and the Points Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Points. If you have not reached the legal age in your jurisdiction, you may use Points only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
Points requires an account authenticated using your phone number. You are responsible for maintaining control of the phone number and device associated with your account. You may not access others' accounts, circumvent security, create fraudulent accounts, or deceptively impersonate another person.
Points allows users to create and join private, invite-only groups. You are responsible for sharing invitation codes only with intended participants. Group owners and administrators can manage members, remove members, customize scoring categories, and transfer group ownership.
Points allows group members to award or deduct virtual points in custom categories. Point totals, rankings, and scoreboards are intended solely for entertainment and social purposes.
Points have no monetary value. Points cannot be redeemed for cash and do not constitute currency, property, credit, financial scores, employment evaluations, academic evaluations, or an objective assessment of character.
You are responsible for content you submit (display names, group names, categories, point notes). By submitting content to a group, you understand it is visible to other members of that group.
Points is designed for social interaction among friends. The mere presence of profanity does not necessarily violate these Terms. However, humor or friendship does not permit harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, exploitation, or unlawful conduct.
You may not use Points to:
Points uses automated filtering, user reports, group moderation tools, and manual review. We reserve the right to remove content, remove members, suspend or terminate accounts, and restrict group access to protect users.
Users may report abusive content or block offending users through in-app tools. For additional assistance, contact: support@gp-lights.com.
Groups may continue to exist independently of the account that originally created them. If an owner leaves or deletes their account, they may transfer ownership to another member.
Optional Siri and Shortcuts functionality allows voice-triggered rulings. To the extent permitted by law, Points is not responsible for unintended scoring resulting from speech recognition errors.
iOS widgets display scores directly on your device. Information in widgets is visible to anyone who can view your device screen.
Push notifications may be delivered regarding point adjustments. Delivery is subject to device settings, Apple services, and network conditions.
You can permanently delete your account in Settings. Account-level records are deleted, while shared group scoring records may be retained with reduced personal context where reasonably practical so remaining group ledgers and scores continue to function.
Points is an evolving service. Features and group limits may be updated or adjusted as the service develops.
Points currently provides features without charge. Optional paid upgrades or subscriptions introduced in the future will require affirmative user authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for material violations of these Terms, security risks, or abuse.
Points is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. Points should not be relied upon for emergency, financial, medical, or legal decisions.
You are responsible for choosing whom you invite and interact with in private groups.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gavin Palm, GP Lights, and operators of Points shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Infrastructure and support services are provided in part by Google/Firebase, Apple, and email delivery providers subject to their respective terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
We may modify these Terms as Points develops. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
These Terms and the Points Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement governing your use of Points.
